Ben and his team at Proclaim have hired a very strong team of talented people. Some of this is credit to the high visibility and creativity of the media world: a lot of people want to do this for a living. But some of it is due to the executive team’s consistent scouting for new, first-class talent. The team uses expectancy theory and Malcolm Gladwell’s Three Pillars of Job Satisfaction to maintain high morale. In addition, there is a heavy emphasis on highly specific core values (No MBA Buzzwords Allowed!). One of the core values is “Emphathize, Care, Solve”, and this gives team members the freedom to share personal challenges, but also puts them in a safe place to laugh at themselves. This is vitally important: everyone should be able to joke with anyone in a respectful and constructive way, and no one gets more ribbing than the founder and CEO. That’s part of the gig. All of this contributes to a culture that is second to none, and the retention speaks for itself.

About our Speaker:

Ben Wiggins has 15 years total experience in narrative and media production, across film, television and podcasting. Mr. Wiggins began his career in sports with Texas A&M Football’s coaching staff in the mid-2000s, and then transitioned to media. Mr. Wiggins worked with Eva Longoria, Marc Cherry, and briefly with Beyonce during an 8-year stint in Los Angeles, writing for ABC Studios’ “Devious Maids” and selling four film screenplays while on the West Coast. After finishing an MBA at Mays Business School and working for several years managing a stock fund, Mr. Wiggins pitched and personally developed the “Mays MasterCast”. Mr. Wiggins then founded Proclaim (formerly Podcast Architects) in 2020, to meet the growing need for educational institutions, businesses, and non-profits to take control of their messaging. Proclaim has grown nearly 100X since its first year of operations, serving partners like NASA, the Department of Energy, the Department of Defense, the National Science Foundation, Discover, Dell, Chick-Fil-A, and of course, Texas A&M.
