Topic: Are you opening and closing your presentation with Impact?

Speakers: June Vieira and Regan Durham

Break the bad habit of weak beginnings and uneventful endings. Don’t waste the most important part of the presentation in boredom and logistics. Make the message stick with an emotional payoff. Use the psychological effects of primacy and recency to make your message unforgettable and to provoke action.

Start your journey to topnotch public speaking skills by mastering the opening and closing of your presentations.

Ms. June Vieira is an accomplished training and organization development professional with over 20 years of experience in the public and private sectors.

Ms. Vieira’s strength comes through her unique ability to use her business experiences to understand the knowledge and skills learners need to increase their performance and productivity. She then designs and delivers programs in a way that excites and motivates learners to use new skills and change their behaviors leading to enhanced capacity among the workforce. Ms. Vieira holds two degrees from Texas A&M University: a BA in Psychology and a Master’s in Human Resource Development. She is a certified training professional through the Association for Talent and Development and the National Society for Performance and Instruction.

Currently she is the Training Manager for the Professional Development Department at Texas A&M University in the Division of Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness. Previously, Ms. Durham served as the Workforce Development Coordinator at CHI St. Joseph Health in Bryan, Texas. As Workforce Development Coordinator, she facilitated organizational onboarding and retention efforts of new team members, coordinated organizational reward and recognition efforts, provided system-wide education opportunities to team members, acted as administrator of learning and performance management systems, and supported leadership development efforts.
